Spider mites are reddish-brown, they have 4 pairs of legs, and are very small — less than 1/50 of an inch long.
Where to Look...
Usually they come from the ground and get into your house through your windows or screens. Spider mites tend to be on the sunny side of the house.
Your plants might give you your best clues as to whether or not you have spider mites. A spidermite has tiny mouth parts that they use to pierce individual plant cells and remove the contents. This leaves little yellow and white speckles on the plant.
When to Look…
Homeowners tend to see spider mites in the warmer weather, and can have them treated any time in the Spring, Summer, or Fall.
